Designing A Kamaao App For Connecting Workers to Jobs : A UI/UX Case Study

Slide 16_9 - 9.jpg

Kamaao is a platform that focuses on providing opportunities for blue-collar freelancers to earn and upskill themselves. The platform offers a variety of jobs, including full-time contract jobs, gigs, and other tasks, all of which are carefully selected to ensure that they are suitable for the platform's users. In addition to these job opportunities, Kamaao provides a range of courses that users can take in their spare time to improve their skills and increase their earning potential.

Kamaao's mission is to empower blue-collar workers by providing them with access to a wide range of job opportunities and resources that can help them achieve their personal and professional goals. By offering these services, Kamaao aims to address some of the common challenges faced by blue-collar workers, such as financial uncertainty and limited access to information and resources.

My Role

As the lead designer for the Kamaao platform, I was responsible for overseeing the entire design process from start to finish. One of my first priorities was to establish a clear understanding of the user flow and information architecture, which are critical components for ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.

In addition to user flow and information architecture, I also focused on creating a robust design system that would serve as the foundation for the entire platform. This included developing a color palette, typography, icon sets, and components such as buttons, text fields, navigation bars, and more.

To ensure consistency and coherence, I set clear guidelines for the design process. This helped align design elements with the vision and goals of the platform. As lead designer, I prioritized user flow, information architecture, and a strong design system to create an intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing Kamaao platform.

Problem Statements

  1. It can be difficult for people with less education and lower skills to find jobs.
  2. Financial uncertainty is a common concern.
  3. Lack of information about specific job requirements and qualifications can also pose a challenge.
  4. Some workers may have physical limitations that prevent them from performing certain types of jobs.
  5. Workers may have difficulty finding jobs that match their schedules or availability.
